PNA Zone 6 celebrates 40th Founding Anniversary and Local Convention

The Philippine Nurses Association (PNA) NCR Zone 6 celebrated 40th Founding Anniversary and Local Convention, themed: PNA NCR Zone 6 at 40: Celebrating Legacy, Advocacy and Leadership on August 16, 2019 at the Acacia Hotel, Alabang, Muntinlupa City. It was attended in by more than 200 nurses, both in the academe and hospitals and students.

The event carried it significance of demonstrating heightened awareness on the value of legacy, advocacy and leadership in the practice of the nursing profession. Hon. Senator Cynthia A. Villar served as the keynote speaker, who shared her advocacy in promoting and helping nurses gain entrepreneurial skills through legislation. She committed herself for a bill in the senate that would look into the welfare and privileges of nurses in the interest of the said professional field.

To note, Olivarez College was awarded for its great contribution in the accomplishment of community services, such as Salamat Dok , seminars and others.

Ms. Cynthia Acosta, Dean of College of Health Sciences Education at Olivarez College, and concurrently the elected Vice President for Programs and Development of Zone 6, was this year’s over-all chairman, together with Mr. Alfredo Yambao and Ms. Rosa Reyes, both faculty members, who assisted in the media promotion, publicity, thanksgiving mass and served as the secretariat during the event.

After all, it was indeed a successful activity to remember that highlighted the realization of the PNA vision, mission and thrust. As such, the officers and the board were commended for a job well done and positive turn-out of the said convention.
