The Culinary Team of Olivarez College won 1st runner-up in the cooking challenge at the 23rd Food and Drinks Asia Exposition in World Trade Center on September 8, 2019. This cooking challenge for young chefs is one of the activities of the International Expo on specialty food, delicatessen, confectionery, beverages, beers, wines, and spirits organized by the LNA Management Group Corp.
The cooking challenge was participated in by nine competing schools. Declared winners are the following: 3rd Runner-Up Colegio de San Lorenzo, 2nd Runner- Up Globetek Senior High School and Technical Training Institute, 1st Runner-Up Olivarez College – Parañaque and Champion Lyceum of the Philippines – Manila.
The competing dishes were judged by celebrity chefs Boy Logro and Zheryl Jacinto, and Food Caterers Association of the Philippines (FCAP) President Mr. Noel Paguia based on innovativeness, flavor, and presentation.
The triumphant Olivarez College Team was composed of John Joshua C. Ricablanca and Candies Molleda, both 4th year BSHRM students, with their coach Mr. Kirk Ibardolaza. The team prepared lauya, a delectable original dish from Parañaque City. Congratulations and kudos to the team and the HRM Department.
