Work versus life. This is not the title of a litigation case in the court. And not even the main event of a boxing match. People in the working class have somehow faced the dilemma of trying to strike a balance between their career and personal life in at least one point in their life. Should work and life really try to outdo each other?
This year’s Midyear Non-Teaching Staff Development Seminar (MNTSDS) slated on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Bulwagang Dr. Pablo R. Olivarez (College Conference Hall) is extra special as Olivarez College, being an employer and a workplace, weighs in on the work-life balance of its employees.
With the theme “Work-Life Balance for Olivarian Staff,” the seminar-workshop aims to promote the value of work-life balance among the organization’s greatest assets, its human resources.
Family life and child development specialist Ms. Katherine Claudette A. Tandoc was invited to impart her insights as a guest speaker. With decades of immersive training and experience to boot, she is a much-sought-after resource speaker in multiple radio and television programs and parenting and organizational development events. She currently is also a part-time faculty in the College of Education.
Marketing officer Ms. Mae D. Cañete of the Marketing and Admissions Office led the flow of the programme. Assistant Director of the Center for Research and Publication Mr. Arturo C. Pulga Jr. and Head of Laboratories and Property Custodian Mr. Alloisius Miguel C. Pilapil, the event chair and co-chair, respectively, were present to accommodate all the non-teaching staff-participants to the MNTSDS 2019.
