Maria Divine Angela Veranga, BS Tourism student represented the Philippines in the Jewel of the World 2019 held on May 14, 2019 at GT-Toyota Asian Cultural Center of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City.
The pageant was inspired by the May 21 declaration of the General Assembly as the World Day for Cultural Diversity. Jewel of the World celebrates beauty in cultural diversity as it highlights the rich culture and heritage of the participating countries.
An Olivarian by heart Maria Divine Angela Veranga hailed 1st Runner-Up to Miss Thailand, Chontida Chatsirichai. Veranga also received two other special awards: Darling of the Press and 1st Runner-up in Best in Cultural Costume.
