Dr. Elmer B. de Leon (AVPAA) participated in the General Orientation of the Draft Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Guidelines by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on July 09, 2019 at the Bulwagang Nubla, PRC Bldg., Paredes, Manila. Series of matters were presented by the Technical Panel headed by Hon. Yolanda D. Reyes (Oversight Commissioner on CPD) and concerns relative to its implementation were laid down and addressed. At the end of this dialog, particular perspectives were clarified and redirected, especially on aspects concomitant to operational guidelines during transition period, self-directed learning creditable activities, providers’ seminars and registration fees, online and internet-based platforms and informal learning and professional work experience.
It can be recalled that the CPD implementation is pursuant to RA 10912 of CPD Law, was amended on February 13, 2019 through Resolution No. 2019-1146 and took effect, March 01, 2019.
Participants to this orientation were various CPD Councils. To note further, Dr. De Leon was appointed by PRC as a member of CPD Alternate Council, Evaluator and Monitor by virtue of PRBPT Res. No. 13 s. 2019. Dr. de Leon attends regular CPD Council meeting and evaluation of self-directed learning and CPD activities by providers every month at PRC.
