Melquiades I. Alipo-on, Library Director of Olivarez College was elected Vice President of the Philippine Association of Academic and Research Librarians (PAARL).
PAARL is a national professional organization of librarians in Philippine academic and research institutions, which aims to disseminate information on research and academic library work, promote the professional welfare of Filipino librarians, and champion the cause of Philippine librarianship.
The 2021 PAARL Board of Directors took their oath of office before Dr. Sonia Gementiza, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Academics of De la Salle University Dasmariñas during the 48th PAARL General Assembly on 29 January 2021 via zoom.
Alipo-on being the Vice President will also chair the Conference Committee. He has proven himself after serving PAARL as an active Board of Director for three consecutive terms. He has been active in different professional organizations like COTS, MLAI, and PLAI.
